Correcting Grade with Retaining Wall Around New Swimming Pool in Perrysburg, Ohio – A+ Equipment Services and Excavation

A new pool made an aggressive elevation change to the client’s backyard. Our crew built a retaining wall (with drainage built in) to help offset the change in grade while keeping watershed flowing the right direction.

Our crew installed this 6×6” timber retaining wall along the right and back side of  this Perrysburg, Ohio customer’s new pool. Elevations between the newly installed pool edges and existing grade at the back right of the  property was very dramatic.  This was going to lead to problems with aesthetics, pouring concrete and drainage in this area. The client needed a way to transition between them gracefully.

This large 6×6″ Treated Timber retaining wall was the agreed upon solution. It allows for an even grade in the area around the pool where concrete is going to be poured. It also includes drainage / weep holes to allow any water collected from higher area of yard to seep down and come out where it should, at back of property.  After the concrete is poured around the pool, we will come back to ensure grade is finished to accommodate it.
